Scarf of the Day: No. 29

Scarf of the Day: No. 29

I finally got back to knitting today, finished up a pair of gloves and started a shawl.

The scarf today is a fabric one, covered with purple and pink flowers. It’s different because there is elastic sewn up the middle so it bunches up. It’s nice and light, especially in this cold weather. But we hit 50 degrees today so YAY!!

Not a long post today so I can get back to knitting.

Can you believe that there’s only one day left in November?

I spent most of the day listing new items in my Etsy shop.

It takes up more time than I think it will. I also struggled with figuring out how to get the pictures onto the computer so I had to call my dad. But it all worked out in the end.

I made this scarf when I had first started knitting. I loved the yarn because of the fall colors.

It was when I had first started so it’s thin. I cast on 20 sts. and knit in garter stitch.

How did your Friday go?

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

It is very late but I’ve been busy all day with Thanksgiving.

This was my dinner plate. Yummy!!

Today’s scarf is a simple green, aqua color.

I’ve never really used this one that much but my mom had this dress that matched it really well. So it’s basically been hers.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving and that it all went well.

Today’s scarf is the last one I got from my trip to Italy. As I blogged about in this post and this one.

I love this one because of the color. The orange and gray look so good together and that why I was drawn to it.

The first time I wore it I even got a compliment.

Today I baked my apple pie and I think it looks great, I just have to wait until tomorrow on the taste.

How has your Thanksgiving prep gone?

Today was filled with baking in my house. We’re getting ready for Thanksgiving so we made 6 pumpkin cheesecakes.

No they’re not all for us. My dad and brother are each taking one into work and one is for the neighbor. We’ll still have an extra, just in case.

I also made the double crust for my first attempt at a homemade apple pie. I’m too tired tonight to finish it, so first thing in the morning.

Now to why you’re really here, the scarf of the day. Its another cowl.

It’s an arm knit cowl that I made when I made my blanket, in my very first blog post.

I like it but don’t wear it that often. As you can see I have very many scarves and some get less attention than others.

How have you been getting ready for Thanksgiving?

The Lovers Knot.

I found this pattern on Pinterest when I was trying to find a pattern to use on this big skein of yarn.

I knit it about two years ago and here’s an Instagram pic from then when it was just a ball of yarn.

I liked this stitch because it was easy and repetitive. It was nice because my mom was sick at the time and it kept my hands busy without having to pay too much attention to it.

The pattern goes,

Cast on an even number of stitches

K1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2tog over and over and over

You repeat this row until it’s the length you want.

It’s a nice open knit but still keeps me warm in this cold, windy weather.

Do you have a go to stitch you like to use?

It was a long weekend and that Craft Bazaar yesterday wore me out.

Today’s post is also a scarf my dad got for me. This one is a knit fabric that is an Acrylic and cotton blend.

I like it because it provides warmth without being too bulky and it looks great with an outfit.

I love that it’s purple too. My favorite!!

Sadly I barely knit this weekend. How about you?
